What is a Mutual Exchange?
A Mutual Exchange is where you swap your home with another Resident. If you are a Lincolnshire Rural resident you can swap with a resident of another council or a resident of a Housing Association.
Mutual Exchanges are a good way to move without having to wait a long time on the transfer list or a waiting list with another council.
To arrange a Mutual Exchange you need to find a resident who wants to swap with you. When you find a property that may be suitable, it is up to you to contact the resident directly.
Think very carefully before you exchange with someone. If you do exchange, you take on all of the rights and responsibilities of the previous resident.
Home Swapper
You can also register on HomeSwapper, which is free to join for all residents. HomeSwapper is the UK’s largest mutual exchange service for social housing tenants. They can help you search for possible swaps, contact other tenants, and arrange viewings until you find your perfect new home.
If you find a potential swap, you will need to let us know via email.
